SportPesa Signs KSh1.12 Billion Deal to Sponsor FKF League

Leading gaming firm SportPesa has made a significant comeback to Kenyan football with a landmark KSh1.12 billion sponsorship deal for the FKF Premier League. This agreement is set to transform the landscape of local football and improve financial stability across the league.

Major Financial Boost for Clubs

Each of the 18 FKF Premier League clubs will receive approximately KSh2.8 million annually, translating to KSh120,000 per month. SportPesa will inject KSh85 million into this upcoming season, with 60% allocated to clubs and 40% earmarked for league operations. This substantial investment aims to enhance league competitiveness and provide actionable solutions for improving club management.

A New Era for Kenyan Football

SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri reinforced the partnership’s significance, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with FKF once again. Our goal is to restore the glory of Kenyan football and make steady progress in the years ahead.” FKF President Hussein Mohammed echoed this sentiment, calling it a transformative milestone for Kenyan football. The deal includes plans for enhanced support, such as providing 5,000 replica jerseys for fans of the Harambee Stars during the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Next Steps for Implementation

As part of this initiative, detailed rollout plans and branding activations will be announced in the coming months. This long-term partnership is expected to not only stabilize finances but also foster a competitive spirit among teams, ultimately aiming for success on both local and international stages.

The coming years offer an exciting opportunity for stakeholders and fans alike. Stay tuned for more updates as FKF and SportPesa navigate this new chapter in Kenyan football.
