InfoSport: The 2025/2026 NPFL season kicks off with the unveiling of fixtures at the upcoming AGM, promising an exciting football year ahead.

In a significant development for Nigerian football, the fixtures for the 2025/2026 Premier Football League (NPFL) season will be unveiled at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja. This highly anticipated event aims to gather stakeholders and club representatives to discuss the roadmap for the upcoming season.

Details of the AGM

According to NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi, the AGM will take place on Monday, July 28 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, with club representatives expected to arrive by Sunday, July 27. The event will include a draw ceremony for the upcoming fixtures, in preparation for the season commencing on August 22.

“In addition to the various reports, we are going to conduct the framework for the fixtures of the new season,” Owumi stated, emphasizing the importance of the meeting.

Emphasizing Inclusivity

During the AGM, the four promoted clubs will be officially welcomed into the NPFL, while the four relegated clubs will attend their last meeting as part of the elite league.

The chairman of the board, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, will lead discussions alongside board members and representatives from the 20 clubs that participated in last season. Notably, the President of the Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, will officially open the event, joined by a host of ex-international players who will add prestige to the fixture draw.
