Experienced Leadership

The Executive Committee of the NFF approved the recommendation from the Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Manu Garba as Head Coach of the Golden Eaglets. Garba has a proven track record, having led Nigeria to its fourth FIFA U17 World Cup victory in the United Arab Emirates in 2013. He has since spearheaded the team in several key tournaments, most notably qualifying them for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup finals in Brazil.

In parallel, Moses Aduku has been appointed as Head Coach of the U20 Girls National Team, Falconets, taking over from Chris Danjuma. Aduku is a highly respected figure in women’s football, having successfully coached top clubs like Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens. He also served as assistant coach for the Falconets during the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, where they reached the quarter-finals.

Upcoming Challenges

Both coaches will officially assume their positions on Sunday, ahead of crucial fixtures for their respective teams. The U20 girls are preparing for a 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda in September, while the Golden Eaglets are set to compete in the upcoming WAFU B U17 Boys Tournament, hosted in Nigeria this month.

Conclusion

With experienced coaches at the helm, the NFF aims to foster a new generation of football talent. As the teams gear up for their upcoming challenges, fans are eager to see how these appointments will shape the future of Nigerian football. Stay tuned for updates and share your thoughts in the comments!
