Tinubu Urges Victory at WAFCON Final

InfoSport: President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigeria’s Super Falcons to win their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title tonight against Morocco, emphasizing national pride and support.

President’s Inspiring Message

President Bola Tinubu has issued a heartfelt message of encouragement to Nigeria’s Super Falcons, urging them to clinch a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title as they face the host nation, Morocco, in the final tonight at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

Acknowledging Team Efforts

In his address, Tinubu praised the Super Falcons for their “awe-inspiring” performance throughout the tournament. He highlighted their displays of pride and strength both on and off the pitch, showcasing exemplary sportsmanship. The President specifically noted their compassionate visit to the injured Gabriela Salgado from South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, calling it a reflection of the empathy and sisterly affection cherished by Africans.

Statistical Dominance

Tinubu emphasized the team’s formidable statistics, stating, “If statistics alone win matches, you are already champions.” He pointed to their unbeaten run in the group stages, victories in the knockout rounds, and only one goal conceded in the semi-finals, further solidifying their chances for victory.

Government Support

Demonstrating full backing from the Nigerian government, Tinubu announced the dispatch of a high-powered presidential delegation to Rabat to cheer the team. This delegation includes key figures like the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Tourism, the Minister of State for Finance, and the Chairman of the National Sports Commission.
