Residents of Abuja will witness a spectacular trophy parade as the Super Falcons return to Nigeria following their triumphant victory in the Women Africa Cup of Nations. The celebrated Nigerian women’s football team is scheduled to arrive at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around noon on Monday, and fans are eager to celebrate their remarkable achievement.

Parade Details

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has organized a special open-roof bus parade that will take the team through major city thoroughfares, including Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market. This event offers fans a rare opportunity to see the coveted Women AFCON trophy up close, celebrating what has become the most prestigious crown in African women’s football.

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the NFF General Secretary, stated, “We are making arrangements to have a trophy parade with the players and their coaches in an open-roof bus. This will afford a good number of people in those areas to have a rare sight of the Women AFCON trophy.”

A Historic Achievement

The Super Falcons achieved a record-extending 10th AFCON title on Saturday night, showing remarkable resolve with a 3-2 comeback win against hosts Morocco at Rabat’s Stade Olympique. The team’s victory is a testament to their skill and determination, further solidifying Nigeria’s status in women’s football.
