Kenya Police FC Stumble in Title Race as Leopards Also Fall

Ulinzi Stars Find Form

In a match held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata, Nairobi, Ulinzi Stars, former champions, broke a five-match winless streak with a pivotal goal from captain Boniface Muchiri. The decisive moment came just after halftime, showcasing strategic execution from the Ulinzi team. A clever interchange saw Ochieng deliver a precise pass to Masita Mutheli, who then sent in an accurate cross for Muchiri to slot home effortlessly.

This disciplined performance from Ulinzi allowed them to manage the game effectively, keeping the visitors at bay. Despite Kenya Police FC’s late attempts to turn the tide with tactical changes, they struggled to create clear scoring opportunities. Goalkeeper Stephen Emuria maintained a steady presence, underscoring Ulinzi’s defensive organization.

Title Race Tightens

The impact of this result on the FKF Premier League standings is significant. Kenya Police FC remains at the top of the table with 49 points from 27 matches, but their lead has narrowed, with Tusker FC just one point behind and possessing a game in hand. Defending champions Gor Mahia are also in the running, sitting in third place with 46 points from 25 matches, further intensifying the competition.

Elsewhere, across town at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, former AFC Leopards player Owen Mboya shone for Posta Rangers. His combined efforts with Shami Mwinyi delivered a 10th-minute goal, sealing a 1–0 victory for the Mailmen and inflicting further woes on AFC Leopards, who also complexly fell short in their match.
