A New Era for Kenyan Football

Hussein, who received 42 votes from 90 delegates during the election at the Moi International Sports Centre, expressed gratitude on social media, stating, “Thank you to all the delegates who believed in the FRESH START team and voted for change.” The former FKF President, Nick Mwendwa, led for eight years, but now Hussein and Mariga aim to breathe new life into the football environment, nurturing local talent and rebuilding fan passion.

Restoring Pride and Building Talent

The newly elected leaders emphasized their commitment to restoring pride in Kenyan football. “Together, we will restore pride, nurture talent, and bring back the passion that unites us all,” Hussein proclaimed. Their mission includes creating development programs for young players and collaborating with local clubs to elevate the standard of play.

Mariga added, “This is not just our win – it’s a win for everyone who dreams of a better future for our game.” Their strategies may include increased funding for grassroots initiatives and enhancement of training facilities to ensure players develop in an optimal environment.

A Call to Action

As Hussein and Mariga embark on this exciting journey, the football community is encouraged to engage and support their vision. The upcoming months will be crucial for establishing the foundation needed to revitalize Kenyan football.
