The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially announced the convocation for its upcoming elective Special General Meeting (SGM) scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, Nairobi. Understanding the SGM Agenda

The agenda for the SGM is clearly defined. It will commence with a roll call to check quorum, followed by an address from FKF President Nick Mwendwa. The core of this meeting will focus on the elections to fill key executive positions as stipulated by Article 28 of the FKF Constitution. Each of the 48 counties and numerous clubs will be represented by a single delegate, emphasizing a collective approach to decision-making in Kenyan football.

Delegates from various sectors of Kenyan football will participate, ensuring comprehensive representation. This includes the 18 FKF Premier League clubs, 10 National Super League clubs, 10 National Division One clubs, 3 Women’s Premier League clubs, and one representative from the Kenya Football Players Welfare Association. The diverse representation will contribute to an inclusive election process, aligning with FKF’s commitment to transparency and unity.

Strategy for Successful Elections

Preparing for this elective SGM involves several actionable steps. Delegates should verify their eligibility and ensure they are well-informed about the candidates and their platforms. Clubs and regions must engage in discussions to ascertain the best candidates for positions within the National Executive Committee. Being proactive in this phase will lay a strong foundation for a transparent election process and strengthen the fabric of Kenyan football.

In the lead-up to the SGM, stakeholders are encouraged to promote healthy dialogue and engage their communities in discussions around the essential qualities leadership candidates should possess in advancing Kenyan football.
