FKF Issues Warning For Unauthorized Football Tournaments

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has stepped up its regulatory framework by issuing a strong warning regarding unauthorized football tournaments. This initiative comes in response to an increase in organizations conducting football activities without proper notification or approval. Stakeholders must adhere to these new guidelines to ensure the integrity of the game.

New Guidelines for Football Tournaments

In a statement released on June 10, FKF reminded all football stakeholders that it holds the authority to manage and supervise all football-related activities across Kenya as a recognized member of FIFA and CAF. Unauthorized events not only threaten the federation’s mandate but also expose participants to potential risks.

Among the key changes is the requirement for organizers to submit formal requests to the FKF National Office at least 14 days before any event. This request should include event details, locations, participating teams, and a description of safety measures in place, including a designated safeguarding officer.

Importance of Compliance

As part of the new guidelines, any tournament taking place in a county must receive approval from the local FKF branch. Only the National Office is authorized to allow or deny activities involving FKF-affiliated players, clubs, coaches, referees, or venues. This standardized approach ensures local coordination and upholds the integrity of football in Kenya.

Failure to comply with these regulations may lead to disciplinary actions against participants and organizers alike. Such consequences emphasize the importance of adhering to FKF’s oversight, thereby fostering a safer and more organized environment for football in the country.

Conclusion

The FKF’s firm stance on unauthorized tournaments serves to protect players and maintain the integrity of the sport. Football enthusiasts and stakeholders are urged to familiarize themselves with these guidelines. For more information, visit the FKF National Office or their official website to ensure compliance and avoid disciplinary actions. Your participation in authorized activities helps cultivate a vibrant football culture in Kenya!
