French club Lille have officially announced the contract extension of Moroccan international striker Hamza Igamane, keeping the player tied to ‘Les Dogues’ until the summer of 2031, a move that confirms the mutual trust between the two parties and rejects any potential departure to one of Europe’s giants.
The French club published an official statement on its social media accounts, accompanied by the phrase ‘mutual trust in the future’, confirming its delight at securing the young Moroccan striker’s stay for additional years.
Contract details
Igamane had joined Lille in the summer of 2025 from Scottish side Glasgow Rangers on a contract running until 2030. He made a promising start with the team, scoring 9 goals and providing two assists in 18 matches during the first half of the 2025-2026 season, before suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury to his right knee during the Africa Cup of Nations final on 18 January 2026.
The renewal comes as the player continues his rehabilitation programme to recover from the injury, with the coaching staff led by manager Davide Ancelotti optimistic about his return to competition next December.
Rejecting departure and a message of loyalty
The contract extension is seen as a clear message from the player and the management rejecting any tempting offers from major European clubs that were monitoring his performances, especially after his strong start with Lille. The club’s management confirmed its determination to support the Moroccan striker during his return to the pitch, to help him regain his high levels and continue his development within the team’s sporting project.
Igamane (born 2 November 2002) is considered one of the most prominent emerging Moroccan talents in Europe, after standing out with Rangers, scoring 16 goals and providing 3 assists in 46 matches, before his move to the French league.
With this extension, Lille secure the continuation of one of their most prominent young strikers, while Hamza Igamane confirms his loyalty to the club that gave him the opportunity to prove himself in one of the strongest European leagues.
