Olympiakos has released a preliminary squad list for their Champions League third qualifying round ties against NEC Nijmegen. The Piraeus outfit remain actively working to bring Moroccan left-back Anass Salah-Eddine to the club, with the defender not yet included in the initial selection.
Registration Window Still Open
The Greek champions retain the flexibility to modify their roster in the coming days before the final deadline. Should negotiations accelerate, Salah-Eddine could feasibly secure registration for the European competition.
Salah-Eddine has distanced himself from a permanent switch to PSV Eindhoven, bringing him closer to Olympiakos. Real Betis continues monitoring developments around the international, though his preferred destination appears increasingly clear.
Key Attacking Departures Cast Doubt
Two prominent absences stand out within the forward ranks. Mehdi Taremi and Roman Yaremchuk feature nowhere on the provisional roster, with uncertainty over their respective club futures driving their exclusion.
Taremi, the Iranian international, could depart during the summer window. Nevertheless, both attackers remain eligible for inclusion once the registration deadline arrives.
Head coach José Luis Mendilibar has confirmed access to attacking resources including Ayoub El Kaabi, Gelson Martins, Giorgos Masouras, Jota Silva, and Joel Casals for the double-header.
Fixture Schedule
Olympiakos will welcome NEC to their home ground on Tuesday, August 4, in the first leg. The reverse fixture takes the Greeks to Nijmegen seven days later for the decisive encounter.
